Student visa – Subclass 500
Requirements
- Be at a certain age (school student)
- Be enrolled in a course and provide evidence
- Meet the English requirements by providing evidence of your English language skills, such as TOEFL, OET, IELTS and PTE, unless you’re from the English language exception countries
- Have health insurance
- Meet health requirements
- Meet character requirements
- Never had a cancelled visa
- Paid your debt to the Australian government
- Be a genuine temporary entrant
For guardians
Student Guardian visa – Subclass 590
This is a visa for guardians who would like to support a child while studying in Australia, or who holds a student visa.
Requirements
- Be a parent, a custodian or a relative
- Be able to provide for the student
- Have enough money for your stay
- Make welfare arrangements for dependants overseas
- Have adequate health insurance
- Be a genuine temporary entrant
- Meet our health requirement
- Meet character requirement
- Have no debt to the Australian Government
- Best interests of the child
