This visa allows people who come to Australia on a valid visa to apply to stay in Australia as an asylum seeker

Requirements:

• You must arrive in Australia legally on a valid visa
• Be a refugee or meet the complementary protection criteria 
• Meet our identity requirements
• Not be barred from lodging a permanent protection visa application
• Meet our security requirements
• Not have held any of these visas
• Meet our health requirements
• Meet our character requirements
