Training visa (subclass 407)

This visa option is suitable for those pursuing to take workplace-based occupation training for professional development to improve their skills for a job.

Requirements: 

• Have an approved sponsor
• Be 18 years old or older
• Your sponsor must have nominated you to participate in a program of occupational training unless your sponsor is an Australian Commonwealth Government agency. 
• Must have a functional level of English
• Have paid back your debt to the Australian Government
• Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused
• Be a genuine temporary entrant
• Have adequate health insurance
• Meet health requirement
• Meet character requirement
