This visa is suitable for parents of settled Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and eligible New Zealand citizens to live in Australia.

- You must apply as a retiree.
- Have an eligible sponsor.
- Meet the balance-of-family test
- Have the assurance of support

Aged Parent Visa – Subclass 804
This visa is suitable for aged parents of settled Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and eligible New Zealand citizens to live in Australia.
Requirements:
- You cannot apply for this visa if you currently hold or applied for a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa.
- You must apply as a retiree.
- You must be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia.
- Have an eligible sponsor.
- Meet the balance-of-family test
- Have the assurance of support
- Have health insurance
- Meet health requirements
- Meet character requirements
- Never had a cancelled visa
- Paid your debt to the Australian government
- Best interests of the child
- Sign the Australian values statement
Contributory Parent visa – Subclass 143
This visa allows your parents to move to Australia permanently. This visa is eligible for parents of settled Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, and eligible New Zealand Citizens.
Note: you cannot apply for this visa if: You cannot apply for this visa if you have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa.
Requirements:
- You have to apply as a retiree
- You must have a sponsor (Usually the sponsor for this visa is an eligible child or an eligible relative in the community)
